First International summit in Somalia #MTS2018

My name is Ahmed Hassan Often people  call  me  Jubba. I'm a student (  Bachelor Degree in IT at SIMAD university), writer and youth activist.

I would like to write an article about the international conference of MTS2018 held in Mogadishu  and what it meant to Somali nation and the people.

Not too long ago Mogadishu hosted a major international conference for  technology and
entrepreneurship aimed to encourage start-ups working in Somalia. The three-day event that began Tuesday was organised by iRISE Hub to showcase the work of thousands of  local companies Kudos to you guys. The Mogadishu Tech Summit is annual gathering that come together  business community, donors, private sector, entrepreneurs and development organizations to make  innovation and technology to promote  a sustainable development as Somalia strives towards technologically stable. The summit brought  together Somali innovators, entrepreneurs, startups, investors and students  to showcase business and investment opportunities and share ideas and meet new innovators.

The MTS2018 showcased the local tech talents and recognize the Somali innovators and entrepreneurs. I can say The Mogadishu Tech Summit 2018 was the biggest event  ever in Somalia that brought  together more than "50+ startups, 600 delegates, 25 investors,  40+ exhibitions and boot camps, pitching events, hackathons, workshops, and countless networking events all along on the sidelines."-(Source-www.MogadishuTechSummit.com)

Mogadishu Tech Summit was a marketplace. It was a place for  Somali Tech experts, entrepreneurs, startups and investors, IT student, developer, hardware Company or willing  to initiate  a new startups. It was  great source of encouragement for Somali youth. The tech summit has really showed to the world and others what youth Som ali can do and achieve their dreams I  am eally so proud to be a witness to this amazing events .

What I likr the most at #MTS108 is the pitching competition between small companies and star-ups an the    winner  of the #MTS2108 pitching competition was BileBulshe solar credit facility startup providing affordable & accessible Energy for IDPs & poor families. The winner gets all the goodies and won five thousand dollars.

One of the most interesting things I like the most to the event  is that The Chairman of premier bank Jibril Mohamed has announced  $1M fund for investmenting  startups in Somalia in collaboration with iRiseHub.

For me it was a great opportunity ,  I met so many people who inspired me it was a great event that contributed my life a lot of things, I can't wait Mogadishu Tech Summit 2019.

I would like to thank all the organizers for the Mogadishu Tech Summit who make it possible  an event that has not happened in Mogadishju before- Khadar,  Abdihakim ainte awil and everyone who took part the event.
